In the winter of 1982, The Norwegian research team from Thule station discovers a spacecraft and its shape-shifting occupant which was buried in the ice for 100,000 years. They take the frozen creature back for further studies, whereupon it is accidentally revived, escapes and begins assimilating and killing off the crew. The outpost is eventually destroyed in the chaos and the two survivors from the camp chase the remaining creature (now imitating an Alaskan Malamute) to the nearby American outpost - U.S. Outpost 31.
